Bratislava's New Bridge 'Garnished' in EU and Slovak Flags

Mon 10 May 04, 16:17    RSI

The "garnishing" of Bratislava's Novy Most bridge in the Slovak and European Union flags was the highlight of Europe Day celebrations in the Slovak capital on Sunday evening. A 40-meter long Slovak and European Union double-flag were dropped from the cafe at the top of the tower above the bridge at 8 p.m. Organised by the European Parliament Office in Slovakia, the event is part of the information campaign relating to Slovakia's entry to the EU and the upcoming European parliamentary election to be held in Slovakia on June 13. Europe Day celebrations finished with a fireworks show late in the evening.
