Non-Smokers Protection Law won't Protect much

Fri 28 May 04, 16:07    RSI

The newly passed law on protection of non-smokers from passive smoking will not actually protect them from anything, writes Narodna obroda daily. Under the original wording, restaurant owners would have had to divide smoking and non-smoking areas with a screen, but the approved version dropped this provision. As a result, the law will have little effect. Furthermore it bans smokers from lighting up within four metres of a designated area at bus stops, while, on the other hand, it does not require transport operators to mark such areas.
