Golden Keys awarded at Art Film festival

The Golden Key awards ceremony on Tuesday evening rounded off the 12th international Art Film festival in Trencianske Teplice, north-west Slovakia. In the Art Fiction category, the award for best director was won by Iceland's Hilmar Oddsson, for the Icelandic-British-German production 'Cold Light'. The award for best cinematography went to the film 'Evil' by Swedish director Mikael Hafstrom. In the Artefact category, Denmark's 'Small Avalanches' was named best short film and another Danish production, 'Man Against Horse', was the best documentary.

The award for best animated or experimental film went to Finnish director Niina Nevalainen for 'Teardrop'. In the On the Road category for young filmmakers, the best film was 'Contact' by Czech director Martin Duda. During four days of the festival, more than 40 films from over 20 countries were shown. From June 23 to June 25, films from the festival will be screened at selected cinemas in capital Bratislava.
