Shooter Gonci fails to make It three finals

Slovak marksman Jozef Gonci missed out on qualifying for the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Final on Sunday at the Markopoulo Olympic Shooting Range Centre. Shooting from prone, kneeling, and standing positions, Gonci scored nine points less than China's Jia Zhanbo registered to win the gold medal. Gonci has already contested two finals at Athens and took bronze in the 10m Air Rifle. On the cycle track, Jaroslav Jerabek failed to qualify for the men's quarterfinal after the repechage. At the halfway stage of the Olympic Games, Slovakia ranks 20th with five medals - two golds, two silvers and one bronze.
