Slovak soccer players beat Latvia 4-1

Mon 11 Oct 04, 16:37    RSI

Slovakia's national soccer team crushed Latvia in its fourth World Cup 2006 European Zone Group 3 qualifier, played in Bratislava on Saturday. Slovakia got off to a bad start, however, when Latvia’s Verkapovskis scored in the third minute. Half-time changed all that, with Nemeth, Michalik and Karhan managing each to score within ten minutes of each other and towards the end of the match Karhan added one more to the result against Latvia. The coach of the national team Dusan Galis: "I have to thank the crowd for great atmosphere... I made changes for the second half and they proved right. Our game in the second half was excellent." The final score was 4-1.
