Davis Cup: Slovakia group first round tie

Slovakia won the Davis Cup World Group first round tie 4-1 over defending champions Spain on a hard court at the National Tennis Centre in Bratislava on Sunday. The crucial third point was gained in Saturday's doubles match. Karol Beck and Michal Mertinak beat Albert Costa and Rafael Nadal 7-6, 6-4, 7-6. Friday evening the senior member of the team Dominik Hrbaty beat Fernando Verdasco, and Karol Beck defeated Feliciano Lopez.
