Police lurk on Central European roads

On Monday morning, the police launched security operation Jastrab (Hawk) on Slovakia's roads. Simultaneously, the operation started in the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. It will end on June 12 at 5 a.m. During checks, the police will focus on keeping the speed limit, using safety belts, condition of the vehicle or driving under the influence of alcohol or other habit forming substances. Police patrols are also searching for wanted persons, things or stolen vehicles. The patrols are operating mainly on international routes and border area roads. Besides traffic offences they are searching for illegal migrants.
