Cow Parade launched In Bratislava

Fri 10 Jun 05, 16:15    RSI

Famous world street art show The Cow Parade was officially introduced in Slovakia. Within a few days dozens of plastic cows will spread all over the town. The project was introduced in March when artists, personalities or even schools were asked to participate and paint a white cow. They will now be displayed in public. Among the Slovak personalities who became artists for this purpose was opera singer Peter Dvorsky or director Juraj Jakubisko. Filip Vagac from Cow Parade Slovakia explained the purpose.

The main purpose is to bring the art to people. Then also having fun; and also charity because at the end of the project there will be an auction of the cows.

Bratislava is the 22nd city where this event is to take place. But in every city in its unique way. Charles Langhorne from Cow Parade UK says

In each city we go to we get different designs. There are some that are always the same, like children’s hand prints. But most designs reflect local cultures, local styles and local artistic talent.

For those who want to see the Bratislava cows in person have the chance until the end of August.
