Record visits at the folklore festival in Detva

The 40th-annual Folklore Festival in Detva, central Slovakia, welcomed a record number of visitors over the past weekend. It is estimated that the stage performances on offer were watched by nearly 25,000 people. Performers taking part in the event included 9 Slovak folklore ensembles, 6 children's folklore groups, 3 foreign ensembles, 9 groups made up of Slovaks living abroad and 80 solo performers. This year's festival costs totaled EUR 106,000.
