Forest fire in the mountains extinguished

Fri 05 Aug 05, 10:10    RSI

A large forest fire that broke out on July 30 in the High Tatras, destroying 230 hectares of woodland, was successfully extinguished on Wednesday. Firefighters and other personnel fought the fire both on land and from the air. Many tourists have cancelled their visit to the High Tatras. The local administration has introduced a measure against possible damage on buildings in the future. Citizens and businessmen should clear wooden debris and other flammable materials within a 100-metre radius of buildings.
