Eastern Slovakia announces state of emergency due to floods

Heavy rain in the Presov region, East Slovakia forced the local authorities to announce a state of emergency on Tuesday in some villages in the Svidnik, Stropkov and Vranov districts. Heavy rain caused a local stream to flood over, blocking roads in the Vranov district. As much as 39mm of rain fell in several places on Monday night.
