Bratislava and Vienna will be connected by a new rail system

Tue 20 Sep 05, 16:05    RSI

Bratislava and Vienna will be connected with a Bombardier Transportation rail system as of December 2005. It is a mode of urban public transport that reaches speeds of 140 kilometres per hour. The new train with an EU certificate is owned by Austrian Railways. According to Vice-President of Bombardier Transportation in Austria Stephan Krenz, the new train can also serve as a high-speed tram. "This train costs EUR 5 million," Krenz told journalists. As he added, it offers a comfortable and effective means of public transport.
