New nuclear power plant in Slovakia?

Experts have begun pondering the construction of a new nuclear power station in Slovakia. "With planning and construction taking between 15 and 17 years, it is high time to think over another nuclear source in Slovakia," said head of the Slovak Nuclear Society Vladimir Slugen during an international conference called "The Role of Nuclear Energy in the Energy Policy of Slovakia and the European Union." The two-day conference started in Bratislava on Monday. A new nuclear power station is needed even though completion of the third and fourth blocks of the Mochovce nuclear power station is now certain. Slovakia has two active nuclear facilities. Jaslovske Bohunice which has two nuclear power stations with two blocks each. The nuclear power station in Mochovce features two active and two unfinished blocks.
