Foreign Minister Kukan the next Kofi Annan

Mon 24 Oct 05, 09:15    RSI

In an interview for the Associated Press Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan admitted that his name was among the few mentioned in connection with the possible successor of the current UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. His term is due to expire next year. Since nominees for the post can not come from individual states, but regional groups, Kukan could be a candidate for the post for the Eastern European regional group, however Aleksander Kwasniewski has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for this regional group.
