EU Commission to cut Slovakia's greenhouse gas quota

Mon 24 Oct 05, 19:40    RSI

The European Commission will face a lawsuit unless it drops its intention to cut Slovakia's annual quota for greenhouse gas emissions, Hospodarske noviny reports. "We are considering taking court action," said Slovak Environment Minister Laszlo Miklos. He claims that the EC is not entitled to take such action. According to the EC, Slovakia's emission quota should be cut by 180,000 tonnes per year, following recent changes in the number of Slovak businesses that produce greenhouse gases.
