Foreigners bring in billions

Wed 26 Oct 05, 09:04    RSI

Foreign visitors to Slovakia brought in 617 million Euros from January to August 2005. Around 19.9 million visitors spent 40 percent more than was spent by foreign visitors over the same period last year. The largest amounts came from tourists from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland, and from businessmen from western Europe and North America. Chairman of the Association of Slovak Travel Agencies Robert Kohlmann says that foreign tourists head mainly for Slovakia's mountains and spas. "Bratislava is mainly visited by business travellers", he said.
