Kohler: Germany will not cancel restrictions to enter labour market

Thu 03 Nov 05, 17:40    RSI

Germany, so far, has no plans to cancel restrictions for new EU countries to enter the German labour market, German President Horst Kohler said at a news conference Wednesday after a session with his Slovak counterpart in Bratislava. "We are not afraid of the arrival of Slovak labour in Germany," Kohler added. He added that he assumes that the rising interest of investors in Slovakia will enable Slovaks to stay and work in Slovakia. The Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic thanked Kohler for Germany's support during the process of Slovakia entering NATO and the EU and he highlighted the special position enjoyed by Germany as the strongest business partner of Slovakia.
