Speaker of Parliament says the European Constitution is dead

Thu 03 Nov 05, 17:41    RSI

An attempt to fulfill the aims of the European Constitutional Treaty failed, suggested Speaker of Parliament Pavol Hrusovsky after a meeting with German President Horst Koehler in Bratislava on Wednesday. Hrusovsky said that according to him the European constitution is a dead document. The Slovak representative said that it is not necessary to continue dealing with the EU constitution, otherwise this could evoke hopes that ratification of the document in the form in which it was offered will continue and the constitution will finally be approved.
