Slovak Universities may be evaluated by International Association EUA

Tue 08 Nov 05, 08:40    RSI

At its session on Wednesday, the cabinet will decide whether to approve a grant of around almost EUR 700 thousand to the European University Association, which should evaluate Slovak universities in the following three years. Conditions for providing the funds are set out in the agreement on the grant between the Education Ministry, and Slovak Rectors Conference on one side and the association on the other side. The EUA should evaluate 23 universities in Slovakia, of which 19 are public ones, three state ones and one is private. The EUA has several years' experience with the evaluation of academic institutions. So far it has carried out 122 institutional evaluations of universities in 36 countries.
