Tue 15 Nov 05, 08:47 • RSIThe Slovak football team lost 1:5 with Spain in the qualification match for the 2006 Football World Championships in Germany. Although the second match will be played on Wednesday in Bratislava, the chances to beat the Spanish favourite 5:0 are considered very small. The Slovak dream of a historical success did not disappear after the first score in the 10th minute of Saturday’s match in Madrid neither after a controversial goal by Luis Garcia 8 minutes later. However the protesting Slovak coach was sent from the touchline for the rest of the match. Even the second half of the game seemed to start successfully for Slovaks with Szilard Nemeth scoring what became the team’s only goal. However, 3 more goals moved the national team far away from the World Championships.
