Kwasniewski calls Slovaks his brothers during farewell trip

Wed 16 Nov 05, 08:23    RSI

Outgoing Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski, who was visiting Slovakia on Monday, called Slovaks his "brothers" at a lunch with Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda. Kwasniewski, finishing his second five-year term on December 23, was here to say good-bye. Dzurinda thanked him for his appearance on the political scene and for everything he has ever done for Slovakia and Europe. The Premier wished Kwasniewski good luck after ten years in office. Kwasniewski also met Parliamentary Chairman Pavol Hrusovsky who thanked him for supporting Slovakia even in hard times, for example when the country was expelled from the main EU integration wave (July 1997). He also invited Kwasniewski to visit the High Tatras.
