American-Slovak work group debates visa regime

Thu 17 Nov 05, 08:30    RSI

The American-Slovak working group acknowledged progress made in the fulfillment of the visa road map proposed by US president George W. Bush during his February visit of Slovakia. The road map sets conditions for the gradual easing of the visa regime for new members of the European Union, including Slovakia. In particular it is encouraging that the number of rejected visa applications is decreasing, which is one of the inevitable conditions set by US law for a country to qualify for the visa waiver program. The qualification of a country for the US visa-waiver program is a long-term process and Slovakia does its best to meet the criteria set in the road map.
