Thu 17 Nov 05, 08:31    RSI

The governing Coalition plans to limit parliamentary immunity in cases when MPs are caught driving under the influence of alcohol. This was announced on Tuesday, following an accident that deputy Jan Cuper caused while driving under the influence of alcohol. However, according to the current rules, as a member of Parliament he cannot be prosecuted. Members of the Parliamentary Mandate and Immunity Committee will have the task of preparing such a proposal.
