Slovak market lacks thousands of computer experts

Thu 24 Nov 05, 08:48    RSI

According to a report published in September by a company called IDC, the Slovak market currently lacks approximately 2,500 experts in information technology and internet administration, Hospodarske noviny daily reports. This number should double in 2008. Meanwhile, a recent audit at Slovak government ministries has highlighted the weak computer skills of civil service clerks. In order to improve the situation, it has been decided that each of the 43,000 clerks working at the ministries will have to demonstrate at least a reasonable level of computer literacy by passing the "European Computer Driving Licence".
