Paid Mountain Rescue Service as of July 1 for hikers and climbers

Wed 30 Nov 05, 09:46    RSI

People who will be either searched for by Mountain Rescue Service or whose life will have to be saved by mountain rescuers, will have to pay for this service as of July 2006. This results from the amendment to the Act on the Mountain Rescue Service, which was signed on Monday by President Gasparovic. Paying for the saving of one's life or health is a common practice in most Alpine regions.
