Mon 05 Dec 05, 07:45    RSI

The second meeting of the coordination committee for euro adoption was held on Thursday. Finance Minister Ivan Miklos informed about outputs from the second report on practical preparations for future eurozone enlargement, published by the European Commission in early November. According to the report, Slovakia placed first in a general evaluation of 38 criteria in the euro accession process. It has already met or is meeting 30 criteria. The coordination committee for euro adoption also tasked the Finance Ministry to elaborate an analysis of impacts of the euro introduction on the population. The analysis should be completed by the end of March 2006.
