Sat 31 Dec 05, 09:21 • RSIWhen criticizing the functioning of the government, the head of state added that there is no problem to govern with minority parliamentary support anywhere in the world. However, certain conditions must be created, which will not leave any open questions among ordinary people about the price parliament supports the government. President Ivan Gasparovic added that it is a big mistake when the government is forced to discuss support with independent deputies prior to every parliamentary votes.

But he is afraid that turnout in the elections will be similar to recent regional elections, very low. Gasparovic does not think that results of the parliamentary elections would affect the heading of Slovakia significantly. This is because every new government will have to continue reforms. "Any government which will arrive will not cancel the reforms. This is simply impossible," said the President, according to whom the situation of 1998 cannot repeat itself.
