2009 Eurozone entry possible

Fri 10 Feb 06, 08:27    RSI

According to the World Bank, the planned Slovak entry to the European monetary union in 2009 is realistic. The World Bank’s Anton Marcin?in has, however, pointed out that due to increasing prices and rapidly growing domestic demand, the inflation criteria could become a problem for Slovakia. Apart from inflation, the new government should also focus on decreasing the public finance deficit in 2007. This will have an impact on the credibility of Slovakia and also on the implementation of the Euro.
