Parties have to submit list of candidates by March 18

Each political party and movement in Slovakia must submit its list of candidates for the June 17 general election by midnight, March 18, the Central Election Committee announced on Thursday. Each list of candidates must contain also an affirmation that the party or movement paid a deposit of 13,200 Euros The election campaign starts 21 days before the vote on Saturday, May 27. According to the new Election Act, there will be no moratorium 48 hours before the vote and no financial limits have been set for campaigning for the first time in modern Slovak history.
