Bird flu not in Slovakia yet

Thu 16 Feb 06, 08:17    RSI

Germany, Austria and neighboring Hungary claim that the H5N1 virus is present on their territory. No similar news has been announced in Slovakia yet, although the possible danger of the virus moving to Slovakia cannot be ruled out, mainly due to the country’s geographical position, - the fact that it neighbors or lies close to many of the country’s where bird flu has already been identified. Last year veterinary inspections of more than 160 farms, investigating more than 1200 samples were negative.
