As of May 1st Slovaks to be able to work also in Portugal, Finland and Spain

Tue 14 Mar 06, 08:39    RSI

As of the first of May, Portugal, Finland and Spain will join the UK, Ireland and Sweden, as countries that have opened their labour markets to the new member states of the European Union. According to commissioner for employment and social affairs Vladimir Spidla other states should also ease restrictions to their markets. Accroding to the Austrian Economy Minsiter France, Holland, Denmark and Greece have held debates on this topic already. This is probably also thanks to a recent report published by the European Commission, which states that citizens of the 10 new EU member countries have proven not to be a threat for countries that had opened their labour markets in May 2004.
