Tue 21 Mar 06, 17:24    RSI

Recent research by the GfK agency has confirmed that considerably fewer Slovaks use the internet than people in the EU15, Sme daily reports. The research showed that 62 percent of Slovaks aged between 15 and 79 never use the internet. By comparison, in Sweden around 80 percent of the population are internet surfers. GfK also found out that most Slovaks under the age of 40 who don't use the internet or have a computer say that the costs are beyond them. Around 80 percent of young people stated that the internet is important, while only 12 percent of people over 60 agreed with this opinion.
