Martikan Wins Gold

At the World Championships in the German town of Ausburg, the Slovak representative Michal Martikan gained a gold medal in canoe slalom. This is already his third individual title. The 24 year old sportsman has won altogether 7 medals from world championships. At the championship two other Slovak representatives, Gabriela Stacherova and Gabriela Zemisova fought their way through to the finals in women's water slalom.
