Stanley Cup to Arrive in Kosice with 1 Day Delay

Fri 01 Aug 03, 15:35    RSI

After going missing for a few hours en route between Toronto and Vienna, the world's most famous ice-hockey trophy, the Stanley Cup, arrived in Slovakia on Friday. The trophy competed by clubs of the NHL should have been presented in Kosice on Thursday, but it went astray among the other luggage. It was received by Kosice-born Jiri Bicek, a winger for the current Stanley Cup Holders the New Jersey Devils. The only other Slovak-born winner of the Stanley Cup was Stan Mikita, with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1961.
